Mein

"Do it your way"

"I often had dreams about what I wanted to achieve in motorsport. You can achieve that with determination, ambition, and a lot of fighting spirit. Multiple German motorsport championship titles and finally winning the Supersport World Championship on a Yamaha. I was living my biggest dream. But one thing in particular has shaped me during this incredibly exciting World Championship season! NEVER GIVE UP! Never give up! It's always worth fighting!"

Jörg Teuchert, born on February 27, 1970 in Simmelsdorf, discovered his passion for motorsports at an early age – influenced by his father, Arnulf, himself a successful enduro rider. At just five years old, he was already riding a motorcycle and gaining his first off-road experience. Through enduro, he found his way to road racing, where he first attracted national attention in the late 1990s. In 1997 and 1998, he won the German Supersport Championship title on a Yamaha, thus laying the foundation for his international breakthrough.

In 1999, he entered the Supersport World Championship with Yamaha Motor Germany and, as a newcomer, surprised everyone with a fourth-place finish overall. A year later, the highlight of his career followed: in 2000, he was crowned Supersport World Champion on a Yamaha YZF-R6 – a success that earned him worldwide recognition. In 2001, he again reached the World Championship podium with third place, before injuries and technical problems caused setbacks in the following years. After eighth place in 2002 and tenth in 2003, he ended his time in the Supersport World Championship.

In 2004, Teuchert switched to the International German Superbike Championship (IDM). The first few years were mixed, including technical difficulties at MV Agusta. But in 2006, he struck back and won the IDM Superbike title on a Yamaha YZF-R1. After a fourth-place finish in 2007 and runner-up in 2008, his second Superbike championship title followed in 2009 – this time by a significant margin. He finished seventh in both 2010 and 2011 before riding his final season with BMW in 2012, subsequently ending his active racing career.

With two Supersport titles, two Superbike titles, and the Supersport World Championship title, Jörg Teuchert is one of the most successful German motorcycle road racers of his time. His blend of technical skill, racing intelligence, and fighting spirit makes him a household name in the motorcycle world to this day.
